INTER-SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY
On Thursday 22nd August, students walked to Tomato Lake to compete for the annual Interschool Cross Country Shield. This year, Rivervale PS joined in with our interschool group. We hope to see them continue to be a part of our events. Also this year, a new course was introduced to our senior students.
Kewdale were overall winners on the day, bringing the champion’s shield back to school for a fourth year in a row. This was a testament to the commitment, effort and attitude of our students towards training and doing their best. Attendance at our four early morning training sessions at Tomato Lake was very high and I thank students and parents for their support.
Captains William T. and Maddison W. led from the front, both taking out their 1.5 km races convincingly. Other individual and team winners are as follows:
Champion teams – Year 4 girls, Year 5 girls, Year 5 boys, Year 6 girls and Year 6 boys.
It is worth noting that Millie from Room 13 came 4th in Year 5 girls, meaning our four Kewdale girls came in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th!! Fantastic effort!!!
A very big thanks to parents Jenny Sheridan, Leanne Mahoney and Kate Tilbee for walking us down. Big thanks to parents Randall and Yukie Clayton for transporting and setting up the tent and tarp for us. And to Ms Gulhan and Ms Griffin, thank you for all your help at the carnival.
