On Thursday 19 June, we were delighted to welcome representatives from the City of Belmont to Kewdale Primary School. Our Kindergarten and Year 3 students had the opportunity to hear from Mayor Robert Rossi, Central Ward Councillor Jarod Harris, and Steve Reeves, Manager of Parks, Leisure and Environment. They spoke with our students about the importance of trees and the vital role they play in supporting a healthy environment.
Following the talk, students headed to our Bush School area where they planted a variety of trees and small shrubs, with support from the City of Belmont team.
We are excited to watch this area flourish and see what native wildlife it may attract in the future.
A big thank you to the City of Belmont for this wonderful partnership and to the Mayor and his team for taking the time to be part of such a special day.
